Climate Scientist
I am a climate scientist exploring carbon-climate interactions and how they change under anthropogenic influence. I am interested in providing more robust projections of the Earth's future climate, using climate models and a variety of data analysis tools.
The primary focus of my work is addressing the question: how much CO2 can we emit in total, before a given global mean temperature level is reached (such as the Paris Agreement target)? And how to quantify the uncertainties in carbon budgets? I also explored climate system responses under different scenarios. How much will the Earth warm if we burn all remaining fossil fuel resources? Are negative emissions (artificial carbon dioxide removal from the atmosphere) effective in reversing climate change? And what happens if we temporarily exceed a given level of warming before returning to the desired target (i.e. overshoot scenarios). I am particularly interested in interpretable and physically-informed machine learning applications to climate data analysis, and I am a core member of Climate Change AI. |
